The Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society supports individuals and families who are experiencing family violence by providing them with safe shelter, education, advocacy, and access to community resources. We offer an innovative daycare program to individuals accessing our programs and services.

Primary duties include:

• Establish and maintain a healthy, safe, and enjoyable childcare environment for a variety of ages.
• Provide one to one support for children accessing programs and services: including family violence education.
• Manage child behaviours in a group setting using best practices.
• Maintain documentation as required.
• Establish and maintain program routines.
• Maintain a standard of cleanliness in the childcare room.
• Facilitate age-appropriate opportunities for children to play.
• Provide basic care (feeding, diapering, ).
• Communicate and collaborate within a team.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• (Level 3) Child and Youth Care Diploma, is preferred. Will consider Early Childhood Education and other equivalent education & relevant work experience.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Rate of Pay: Please submit your wage expectations in your cover letter; extensive benefit package available after 3 months. Employer funded RRSP plan available after 1 year of employment. 3 weeks of paid vacation. Many wellness initiatives!

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Full time position will work 8:30am – 5:00pm, and the part time position will work 9:00am – 1:00pm. Flexibility is required based on programming needs.
